We begin by thoroughly inspecting your floors to assess their condition. This involves checking for squeaks, creaks, and loose boards. We then prepare the space by removing shoe base molding, which is the quarter-round trim where the floor meets the wall. We carefully label each piece to ensure proper reinstallation later.

Next, we address any issues we've identified. We nail down loose boards and hammer down protruding nails. Any holes are filled with wood putty to create a smooth surface. We also seal air vents and doorways with plastic sheeting to contain dust during the sanding process.

Our sanding process is thorough and systematic. We start with a coarse-grit sandpaper using a drum sander, gradually progressing to finer grits. This method effectively removes the old finish, scratches, and stains.

We pay special attention to edges and corners using a sanding edger, ensuring every inch of your floor is properly prepared. Between each sanding stage, we sweep and vacuum to remove dust and debris.

For a perfectly smooth finish, we use a floor buffer with a fine-grit screening pad. This step levels out any minor unevenness and buffs away sanding scratches.

Before applying stain, we ensure the floor is completely dust-free. We then apply the chosen stain color in small sections, always working in the direction of the wood grain. Excess stain is wiped away to achieve the desired tone.

Once the stain has dried, we apply a protective finish. We offer various options, including water-based and oil-based polyurethane finishes.
